Bessie’s Sweet and Sour Meatballs Win Statewide Contest
BOERNE, TX — The winner of Nature’s Eats state-wide recipe contest has been chosen. A panel of five judges gathered to taste the final recipes and came to a unanimous decision for the Grand Prize Winner. Bessie Louise Burnsed of Houston, Texas entered the winning recipe: Bessie’s Sweet and Sour Meatballs.
“As the recipe entries started coming in, we were especially pleased to see how many of our products were used in main dishes,” said John Taylor, President of Nature’s Eats. “The variety of nuts, trail mixes, and dried fruits we provide really allows for creativity in the kitchen.” Nature’s Eats products are found in the produce section of all H-E-B’s.
Speaking of creativity, Bessie Lousie Burnsed, has been refining her winning recipe for over 20 years. “With 15 siblings, I come from a large family, and I love to cook. And it has to be good, or else I’ll have a lot of complaints! For 25 years, there’s always been a batch of my meatballs on the table,” said Nature’s Eats Grand Prize Winner, Bessie Lousie Burnsed.
